NORMAL In Schools (NIS) is a nonprofit arts and education organization that implements programs and curricula centered around performing the rock musical NIS in order to raise awareness of eating disorders and promote healing through theatre.
NORMAL, the true story of a family’s struggle with an eating disorder, is an award-winning musical supplemented by a talkback discussion with a medical expert specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and a person currently in recovery. Through these performances, talkbacks, and other supplemental curricular materials, NIS seeks to teach its audience about good health, body image, wellness, family systems and family dysfunction, the devastating impact of eating disorders, and the therapeutic influence of theatre.
NORMAL In Schools (NIS) is a nonprofit organization which teaches about the devastating impact of eating disorders and the therapeutic impact of theatre while educating about related issues such as body image, self esteem, family communication and stress management.
